A350 FMS Flashcards
How many Flight Management Systems are there?
2
How many Flight Management Computers are there?
3
Which FMC is the master?
The FMC corresponding to the engaged autopilot with the FMS selector in norm.
How many databases does each FMC have and what are they?
The 4 databases are:
- Navigation
- Performance
- Magnetic Variation
- Pilot elements
When is data deleted from the pilot stored elements database?
When the FMCs are shut down.
How many flight plans can be simultaneously stored in the FMS?
Four
What defines an FLS beam?
- An anchor point.
- A course.
- A slope.
How is an anchor point idented?
When the AP is on the runway threshold then the ident is the ICAO of the airport with the identifier of the runway, eg EGLL27L.
If the AP is before the threshold then the ident is EP plus the runway ident, eg EP09R.
If the FLS beam is not available in the database what message is shown on the FMS?
No FLS for this approach.
What is the barometric reference for the computation of the FLS beam?
If standard is set then it is the QNH entered on the approach panel of the FMS.
If QNH is set then the current QNH is used.
Is the FLS beam cold weather corrected and if so how?
The FMS uses the temperature entered on the approach panel to compute corrections if different from ISA standard.
If no temperature is entered then ISA is assumed.
