What is the definition of ‘land assured’?
If in the judgement of the Commander, the landing can be completed in the event of
- any forecast deterioration in the weather.
- Plausible single failure of airborne or ground facility.
At any time, with unknown delay and no EAT, the flight can continue if showing less than final reserve+diversion at destination if……
It’s possible to reach 2 aerodromes at which landing is assured and final reserve remains at touchdown.
When can two separate runways runways be considered as two aerodromes?
When within two hours flying time from the present position and account is taken of any likely ATC delay.
Within 6 hours flying time, what are the requirements to be able to continue the flight when estimating destination with less that final reserve+diversion fuel available at touchdown.
At least Reserve fuel+15 mins must remain at destination.
1. Two separate runways must be available and usable.
2. Appropriate weather reports for ETA +/- 1 hour at destination show cloud base as circling +500ft or 2000 agl whichever is greater
and
3. Visibility 5k.
When an EAT has been issued or the MAXIMUM delay is known, what conditions are required to be able to continue the flight if less than final reserve+diversion will be available at touchdown?
- Number of runways irrelevant.
- Final reserve to be intact at touch down.
- Land must be assured.
Within two hours flying time of destination, how is the “At any time, with unknown delay and no EAT, the flight can continue if showing less than final reserve+diversion at destination if……” rule modified?
Within two hours, two separate runways can be considered as two separate aerodromes as long as account is taken of any ATC delay.
