Flight Envelope Flashcards
Which speed gives the best lif/drag ratio?
Green dot
Which speed gives the best climb gradient?
Green dot.
Green dot depends on:
The aircraft gross weight.
The aircraft altitude.
Where is green dot speed displayed?
On the speed tape in clean config.
On the TO panel of the performance page.
On the APPR panel of the performance page.
On the GA panel of the performance page.
What is F speed?
The minimum speed at which flaps can be retracted from CONF 3 to CONF 1+F at take-off or go-around.
The minimmum speed at which flaps can be retracted from CONFIG 2 to CONFIG 1+F at take-off or go-around.
The managed speed target during approach with flaps at CONFIG 2 or CONFIG 3.
When is F speed displayed on the speed tape?
When in flight with the flaps at CONFIG 2 or CONFIG 3.
At take-off, 3 seconds after lift-off with the flaps at CONFIG 2 or CONFIG 3.
What is S speed?
The minimum speed at take-off at which the slats/flaps can be retracted from position CONFIG 1/1+F to CONFIG 0.
During approach the managed speed target with flaps at CONFIG 1/1+F.
When is S speed displayed?
In flight the S speed is displayed when CONFIG 1/1+F.
During take-off 3 seconds after lift-off when CONFIG 1+F is used.
Where is S speed displayed?
On the speed tape.
On the TO panel of the performance page.
On the APPR panel of the performance page.
On the GA panel of the performance page.
How is Vr presented on the speed tape?
A blue dot.
Are the V speeds computed in the FMC or the PRIMS?
Neither, the V speeds are not computed by aircraft systems.
Where is Vapp displayed?
Vapp is displayed on the approach panel of the FMS performance page.
Vapp is not displayed on the speed tape.
What is the difference between VMO/MMO and VMAX.
VMO/MMO are the maximum speeds of the aircraft when clean.
VMAX is the maximum speed for a given configuration.
