Progress in all areas were uneven across regions and countries:
-Millions of people were left behind due to sex, disability, ethnicity and geographic location.
-This showed there was still a lot more work to be done.
rational no 3
New global challenges had emerged that needed to be considered:
-impact of increasing conflict, migration, economic instability and large scale environmental changes.
-These have the capacity to undermine the achievements that have been made with MDGs.

hundreds of millions of people still live in extreme poverty which means that they struggle to afford basic resources such as food and clean water, contributing to a high number of preventable deaths.
objective 2
fight inequality and injustice
millions of people around the world face persecution due to factors such as sex, religion and race, decreasing their ability to lead a happy and healthy life.
objective 3
