In seguito ad un episodio di ischemia acuta e transitoria, si verifica una disfunzione sistolica, anche dopo un ritorno del blood flow. Le anomalie biochimiche, funzionali e strutturali in questi casi sono del tutto reversibili, con lenta ripresa della contrazione in modo del tutto autonomo.
