Thrombotic and Emoblic

What causes a thrombotic stroke?
Injury to the endothelial walls of cerebral blood vessel leads to a platelet clog
What medications are given to treat a thrombotic stroke?
Thrombolytics

What surgical procedure is done for a thrombotic stroke?
Thrombolectomy, uses stent retrievers
What causes an embolic stroke?
A clot from somewhere else travels to the brain
What is a Transient Ischemic Attack?
- manifestations of a stroke

What is a Hemorrhagic Stroke?
sudden bleeding in the brain caused by hypertension

- intracranial
- subarachnoid

- CT Scan (most common)
