chest pain less than 10 minutes

What is the type of pain associated with angina?
Squeezing pain
What is another name for stable angina?
Angina pectoris proper
What is the cause of stable angina?
Stenosis of the coronary artery (usually caused by atherosclerosis)
What is the indication of stable angina?
The pain is relieved by rest
What is the cause of unstable angina?
Thrombus
What is the indication of unstable angina?
The pain is only relieved by medication
What is the DOC for unstable angina?
Nitroglycerin
What is the cause of Prinzmetal/Variant Angina?
Spasm of the coronary artery
What is the indication of Variant Angina?
The pain may occur even with rest
When does Variant Angina usually occur?
During midnight/early morning
What is the management of Angina?
- Stop Activity
- Gradually increase activities
- Nitroglycerin
- Viagra not allowed
What is the timing of Nitroglycerin?
3 times with a 5 minute interval, contact HCP if pain is not relieved after first dose
