SLR Test Purpose
A
- Used for disc pathology, nerve root irritation, places stress on sciatic nerve, and provides traction of lumbosacral nerve roots (L4-S2)
- Identifies radicular pain or radiculopathy

(+) SLR Test
A
- Radicular pain below the knee
- Pain at 30, 60, or 70 degrees of hip flexion
- Neuro pain in leg between 30-70 degrees of hip flexion = lumbar disc herniation (L4-S1)
- Pain at grater than 70 degrees of hip flexion = hamstring tightness, glut max tightness, hip capsule tightness, or SIJ pathology
- Symptoms are primarily in back = disc herniation
