Spaces in the body Flashcards
what passes through the supra scapular foramen?
Suprascapular nerve
(ligament makes up the top border)
What are the borders of the quadrangular space
-Teres major
-Teres minor
-long head of triceps
-humerus
what passes through the quadrangular space
axillary nerve
posterior circumflex humeral artery
what are the borders of the triangular interval
teres major
long head of the triceps
lateral head of the triceps
What passes through the triangular interval
radial nerve and
deep brachial artery (profound brachia)
What are the borders of the clavipectoral triangle
-clavicle: superior
-deltoid: lateral
-pectoralis major (medial)
What are the contents of the clavipectoral triangle
cephalic vein
What is the cubital fossa?
-borders?
-contents?
-area of transition between arm and forearm
borders:
-brachioradialis (lateral)
-pronator teres(medial)
-horizontal line between medial and lateral humerus epicondyles
Contents:
-median nerve
-brachial artery
-biceps tendon
What are the borders of the anatomical snuffbox?
-contents?
Lateral border:
-abductor pollicis longus
-extensor pollicis brevis
Medial border:
-extensor pollicis longus

Popliteal fossa
Borders:
-Superior: semimebranosus and semitendinosus
-Inferior: medial and lateral heads of the gastrocnemius
Contents:
- popliteal vein: usually enlarge; people often get DVT here
- popliteal artery: origin in anterior thigh
- tibial nerve: descends vertically to posterior compartment of leg
-Common perineal nerve: follows biceps femoris tendon to lateral aspect of the leg
Abductor hiatus contents
femoral artery and vein
Abdomen
