Posterior abdominal wall muscles
reinforced by:
1. quadratus lumborum
2. psoas major
3. iliacus
What is the iliopsoas muscles
combination of iliacus and posts major the blend inferiorly
Anterolateral muscles of the abdomen
-external oblique
-internal oblique
-transversus abdominis
-rectus abdominis
Recuts sheath
-encloses rectus abdominis so it does not contact other muscles or the organs
-layering of aproneuroses EO, IO, TA
Rectus sheath superior
-upper abdomen: sheath completes encloses RA
-anterior wall: EO aponeurosis and 1/2 of IO aponeurosis
-posterior wall: 1/2 of IO aponeurosis and TA aponeurosis
Rectus sheath - inferior
-lower abdomen: sheath covers only anterior aspect of RA
-all aponeurosis anterior to RA
-arcuate line: where 1/2 of IO and TA go anterior
