Chap #1: SOLID START
Tip 1: “Keep your left ear over the ball for entire swing.”—Arnold Palmer
This promotes solid contact, because if you sway, it’s hard to make a solid shot.

Tip 2: Focus on the ball number entire swing.
- Place number at contact point.
- Relax neck but keep eyes on number and do not sway.
“Never be afraid to bang down into ball. Don’t try to pick it.” Ben Hogan (MN: use your head. Cannot do this when muddy or fluffy lie.)

Tip#3: On impact, weight and hands are forward of the ball. Left leg SB swayed, angled against imaginary box at impact. Going into impact, think “Box before ball”. I made video.
REM the waggle gap drill, fist between shaft and hand. Hogan book page 67. This gap SB YOUR IMPACT POSITION.

A

S- looking at ball in same SPECIFIC place on number.
O- hit ball OFTEN in center of CF
L- low point (club descending after impact to make divot). Weight and hands forward.
I- impact, center of CF.
D- divot 4-5 inches long like a pro. Helps stop pulls and follows path to target. Nicklaus calls this the full release.

Chap: #2: Better bunker play

Sand:
Good fluffy lie-use bounce edge. Bottom of swing EXACTLY under ball. If start is 2 inches before ball, club exit from sand will be 2 inches on exit side of ball. Hands and weight forward. Rear foot on tip toe. Keep lower body still.

Slight bury or heavy plug- use digging edge and blast it out. Hands and weight forward, stab at it then blast it out. No FF.

Fairway bunker- shorten grip. Keep lower body still. Play ball forward.

SOG: DRIVES 2/15/21

Stretching the lead shoulder like Dustin Johnson on BS at 3:00 position push out in a stretch on lead shoulder and hold that stretch through impact and into FF. This creates more width!

DS: Angle of attack should feel like an underarm toss, throwing the ball far as you can down the fairway.

“From transition to impact, pull down with last two fingers of left hand”- Sam Snead.
This keeps you on plane and stops the outside in path to impact. SLICE

BS: Feel like you are aiming chest toward sky. This will match my hip angle!

Draw— “TOE MUST GO”. Knuckles down and make toe catch up with rear of CF.
