2021 Review Paramount Checkpoints Flashcards

Review this deck before you play!

1). Complete slow transition.
So many times the ball PULLS left or it’s a worm burner staying on the ground. Complete transition fully and slowly. CREATE SEPARATION by transferring your weight 90% fully to your left side with a soft pivot on left leg before you release. This means you hold back your swing such a long time that it feels you are really too late. When you create this SEPARATION, it is the secret how the pros hit their irons so much longer than you.

This will stop pulls and add great distance. Pivot lightly off your left leg going into impact. This is a gentle pivot, not a stomp your foot thing.
MAKE CERTAIN PIVOT ON LEFT LEG ISN’T RUINING YOUR HIP. IF SO, FIND ANOTHER WAY.

A

2) Think of your iron as a whip that collects the ball. Practice with a broken tee laying on the ground, five inches past your ball. Upon impact, collect the ball and the broken tee to experience THE FULL RELEASE like Jack Nicklaus. This also STOPS PULLS because it makes you lead with your left shoulder.

Pros leave a shallow divot five inches past the ball. This gives you pro type contact solid hits!

3) BOW and CUP your hands on TA and snap the whip THROUGH the ball with BOTH hands, collecting the ball and broken tee.

The bow and cap gives maximum power and distance.

A

4) Do your hip turn on TA very slowly getting on plane with golf shaft. And start your downward hip turn slowly until finished with transition and weight is pivoting on left leg. Take the time to do this. Have patience to go through every checkpoint.

Golf Loopy says pivoting fast takes you off plane and causes mishits. Pivoting slowly doesn’t diminish your power. Your power is 99% supplied from the created SEPARATION. In my yard, it gives great power with no pulls.

5) Arm separation on DS.

On TA left bicep glued to chest, but on DS, you want arms max distance from body and head. THIS CREATES WIDTH. Results in more distance and power.

Remember to hold the triangle all the way through impact, collect ball and tee making a FULL RELEASE.

A

6) Teed up drive. Contact teed ball with upward path. Loopy says not to swing up, skying ball. Just setup where CF will bottom out and start into FT inclining upward. This action frees you to snap through the ball using BOW and CUPPED wrist. You snap through impact free and faster.

Remember, on all clubs, the left hand leads and controls which way the CF is pointing.

7) Wedge shots SB swung from outside in. Short irons SB pretty much straight back half swing and half way FT right of target. The high loft on short irons make them go left, so go for fade shots.

A

Another tip loopy talked about was keep your head down and look at impact point even after ball is gone.

I’ll have to see if this is worthwhile. I lose sight of the ball now. How can I find it if I don’t see where it goes?
