How does gender affect participation in sport
Some sports are considered more ‘manly’ or ‘girly’ for example a boy would struggle to find a netball team.
How does age affect participation in sport
Some sports have age restrictions. For example, to run the london marathon you have to be 18.
How does your socio economic group impact your sporting choice?
Some sports are very costly and therefore may be un-accesible for many people.
How does ethnicity affect participation in sport
Our ethnicity can affect the sports we participate in, for example indian ethnicity lead to many indians playing cricket.
How does disability affect participation in sport?
People who are disabled may struggle to find a sporting team to participate in.
Commercialisation
Making something available on the market or using something to make a profit
What is sportmanship
Where an individual plays to the rules of the sport even in defeat.
What is gamesmanship
Bending the rules of the sport to gain an advantage and possibly win
What is deviance
Behaviour which go’s against the morals of the sport.
