What is an open skill
Open skills are skills required for changing scenarios and environments
What is a closed skill
Closed skills take place in a stable, predictable environment. (Penalty)
What is a basic skill
Skills that require little concentration or thought
What is a complex skill
Skills which require a lot of concentration and thought
What is a low organisation skill
A skill which has clear simple phases and parts to perform.
What is a high organisation skill
A skill which has a lot of complexed phases and parts
What is massed practice
Where an athlete practices a skill continuosly without rest.
What is distributed practice
A type of practice where an athlete practices the skill with rest
What is fixed practice
Where an athlete practices a skill continuosly until it is learnt
What is variable practice
Where an athlete practices a skill in a variety of different scenarios
What is visual guidance
Where a coach performs the skill themselves to demonstrate to the learners how the skill is performed
What is verbal guidance
Where a coach explains verbally how to perform a skill
What is intrinsic feedback
Feedback from the athlete themselves
What is extrinsic feedback
This is feedback from an outside source. E.g parents
What is concurrent feedback
Feedback which is given during the performance
