What is vasodilation?
When veins swell up and widen to allow increased blood flow
What is vasoconstriction?
When veins shrink down and narrow to decrease blood flow
What is a vein?
A tube that carries blood back to the heart
What is an artery?
A muscular tube that carries blood away from the heart
What is vascular shunting?
A process that increases blood flow to active areas during exercise by diverting blood away from inactive areas
What is thrombokinase?
A substance that is involved in blood clotting
What is serotonin?
A hormone that triggers the clotting progress
What is erythrocyte another name for?
A Red blood cell
What is leukocyte another name for?
A white blood cell
Why are capillaries one cell thick?
To allow for diffusion in them

The wall of an artery is thick with a lot of muscle and elastic fibres.
