Question 1

What is the primary medium for arranging necessary time off to attend schedule classes?

Answer 1

MUTUAL EXCHANGE of tours

• tours of duty shall NOT exceed 24 hours
• made between members assigned to SAME DIVISION (NORMALLY battalion )

Part tour mutuals: Not less than 1 hours/not more than 6 hours
-reimbursement of part tour mutuals can be accumulated to be reimbursed as complete tour…not more than 15 hour tour may be accumulated
Note: cooperator must be same member in all instances
-all part tour mx may begin OR end at the time of tour changes (0900/1800)

Question 2

If mx exchanges are unavailable…following may be utilized by members seeking time off:

Answer 2

-compensatory time due for Memorial or Veterans Day
-Adjusted Tour (15 hours)
-Any other compensatory time due
Note: minimum of 1 hours shall be used under this provision

Question 3

Variance of tours, due to SCHOOL forward report in duplicate to BUREAU OF PERSONNEL via chain of command

Answer 3

if a member is lacking mx’s or time owed the member may be permitted EXCUSAL TIME up to maximum of 36 hours

• requests submitted for 9x6 (entire tour)
• request for partial tours of minimum of 1 hour and max of 6 hours for night students

-if members owes 36 hours for a period of 30 days or more days NO FURTHER EXCUSAL TIME SHALL BE ALLOWED

REPAY EXCUSAL TIME:

• member should verbally notify officer at roll call 72 hours prior to requested repayment ..officer will notify BC
• BC will approve/disapprove
• this member give FIRST PRIORITY in meeting minimum staffing levels (before MSOT)
