A

The Safe2Tell administrators do not discriminate what type of tips goes to law enforcement, as they are all received by the Wyoming Highway Patrol Dispatch center, then filtered to LE agencies by jurisdiction all over the State of Wyoming.

  1. Safe2Tell tip is received. This will be by a text message to the SRO Sergeant and the SRO assigned to the school in the Safe2Tell tip. A Teletype will also be sent by the LCCCC to the SRO assigned to the
    school.
  2. The SRO handles the Safe2Tell tip just like a regular call for service to include completing any required paperwork, making the required notifications and issuing criminal charges.
  3. The SRO Sergeant, or another SRO handles the SatezTell Tip it the assigned SRO is unable to respond.
  4. The SRO or SRO Sergeant logs on to https:/www.p3tips.com dispo with the associated Tip ID # and
    Disposition ID # and completes the report to document what actions were taken.

During non-school hours when an SRO is not on-duty, which includes but is not limited to: nights, weekends, spring break, summer break and holidays

  1. Safe2Tell tip is received. A Teletype will be sent to an on-duty patrol officer.
  2. The patrol officer will decide based on sound judgement, if the tip requires immediate handling, or if the tip can be forwarded to the SRO assigned to the school.

• If a determination is made to forward the Safe2Tell tip, the patrol officer will email the assigned SRO and the SRO Sergeant via the CPD SRO email group.

• It the tip requires immediate LE attention, the patrol officer handles the Safe2Tell tip just like a regular call for service to include completing and required paperwork, making the required notitications and issuing criminal charges.

The patrol officer logs on to https://www.p3tips.com/dispo with the associated Tip ID # and
Disposition D # and completes the report to document what actions were taken.

The patrol officer notifies the SRO and SRO Sergeant via the CPD SRO email group.

The goal of this is to provide a safe environment at the schools of Laramie County School District #1, within the city limits. The program also establishes open lines of communication between School Resource Officers and School Administrators in order to provide the safest environment possible for the students, faculty and families.

A

Rifle Specifics:

SROs will only maintain one AR-15 type patrol rifle within the safe. No other weapons are permitted to be stored in the safe.

Patrol rifles will be transported to and from patrol vehicles in a CPD authorized rifle case

Patrol rifles will be removed from safes at any time there will be an absence from school in excess of 3 days, holidays, summer break. military leave, personal vacations, etc.).

Patrol rifles will be maintained in a “Cruiser Ready fashion within the safe.
Each SRO will be responsible for regular maintenance and qualification per CPD Firearms Policy (FLD220).

Patrol Rifles may be deploved at the SROs discretion.

A

• Storage, Inspections and Location:

SROs may store required ammo, magazines, “Go Bags”, and CPD related material in the safe.

The safe’s E-Lock batteries are to be changed at the beginning of the school year and upon returning from Christmas break.

• Safes will be inspected by the SRO Sergeant.

These inspections will be documented on CPD monthly inspection forms.

Any abnormalities with the safe or E-lock will be immediately reported to the SRO Sergeant

Once a safe is installed by LSD #1, positioning of the safe will not be altered by the SRO.

Maintain confidentiality.

Inform administrators of SROs presence and departure during scheduled work day.

Enforce traffic laws within the neighborhoods adjacent to the SO’s assigned schools.

Enforce school zone speed limits in the school areas for which SROs are assigned.

Facilitate/provide security at after-school events as deemed necessary by the school district.

During the absence of an SRO at their assigned school, other SOs in the triad will communicate and cover the absent SO’s schools as necessary.
