What will officer be acquainted with before doing Tobacco Compliance?
- Officers will read Wyoming Statute 14-3-301 through 14-3-308 and Cheyenne City Code 9.16.070.

Officers will be paid $60 per check and underage buyers will receive $20 per check for category A checks. Officers will be paid $30 per check and underage buyers will receive $20 per check for category B checks. For an explanation of category’s and procedures refer to section 14 of this document.

e. The officer will have the purchaser read Wyoming Statue 14-3-301 through 14-3-308, specifically explaining that if the purchaser is asked their age, they will answer truthfully.
When conducting Tobacco compliance checks, officers are required to fill out what properly and thoroughly before getting paid?

If the establishment fails the inspection, the officer will complete an Incident Report documenting what?
When conducting Tobacco compliance checks, officers are required to fill out the inspection forms and all other documentation correctly, prior to being compensated (paid) for the inspections.
a. A Tobacco Compliance Inspection Form will be filled out. Copies must be disseminated in the following manner:
i. One copy will be turned in by leaving it in the basket on Officer Hedum’s desk.
ii. One copy will be given to the manger/employee that was inspected at the time of the inspection.
b. The officers will generate a Case number from dispatch.
i. If the establishment passes the inspection, the officer may close the incident “no report required”
ii. If the establishment fails the inspection, the officer will complete an Incident Report documenting all the requirements of the Wyoming Statute 14-3-302(a). When issuing a summons, officers will follow standard procedure for issuing citations/summonses
After completing the inspection the officer will fill out what?
After completing the inspection the officer will fill out the CPD Tobacco Compliance Check Establishment List indicating which establishment they inspected.
What money will be used by puchaser to buy tobacco?
Officers will use the $20 buy money which is located in the Tobacco Compliance Binder. The buy money must be signed in and out by the officers conducting the Tobacco inspections. Once checks are complete, return buy money to the binder.
The purchaser must pay for the Tobacco before what?
The purchaser must pay for the Tobacco before the transaction/violation can be considered complete.
At the end of the inspections, officers will enter their inspection pay information into Telestaff how?
At the end of the inspections, officers will enter their inspection pay information into Telestaff using the below picture as a guide. The amount of hours must be the number of checks you completed. The officer will place all completed check sheets, consent forms, participation agreement, buyer pay vouchers in the “Completed Checks” basket on Officer Hedum’s desk.
When completing Category A and category B, what must you remember?
- Category A and category B
a. Officers may complete category A checks without the need for a second officer. Officers completing B checks need to complete checks with another officer. Unfortunately, the officers completing B checks will not receive the $60 per check, but will only receive $30 per check. B checks are places that sell alcohol. Furthermore, B check lists include more establishments than A check lists.
