What does PAMS provide?
Long term accident and post accident monitoring of effluent gases and particulates for condenser effluent and plant vent.
What are the three sub systems of SQ?
SRMS - safety related
PAMS- post accident
DCU- digital radiation display and control units
What does the SRMS provide?
Actuations for the ESF isolation systems.
What does DRMS provide?
It provides information on the process, effluent, and area radiation levels.
What automatic functions are associated with RU-1 (containment building atmosphere monitor)?
Isolation valves to the monitor close on a LOCA.
Isolation valves close on a CIAS.
Auto functions associated with RU-29 & RU-30 (control room ventilation intake monitors).
Provide engineered safety feature actuation on high-high alarm activating the control room essential filtration units.
Auto functions associated with RU-37 & RU-38 (power access purge).
Monitor ducts for concentrations that could result in off site dose exceeding limits.
Provide ESF actuation on high high alarm initiating containment purge supply and exhaust isolation.
Auto functions associated with RU-145 (fuel building ventilation exhaust monitor).
Provides ESF actuation on high high alarm to isolate the normal fuel building ventilation and initiate essential fuel building ventilation.
Automatic functions associated with RU-31 (fuel pool area monitor).
Provide ESF actuation on high high alarm isolating normal fuel building ventilation and initiating FBEVAS
Automatic functions associated with RU-141 (condenser vacuum pump/ gland exhaust monitor).
141A monitors both, 141B monitors air removal pump discharge only.
High alarm on A will initiate air removal system post filter system. B provides alarm only (no actuations).
Automatic functions associated with RU-7 (aux steam condensate receiver tank inlet monitor).
High alarm sends condensate (this one is in contact with liquid), to the LRS system through 11B valve.
Automatic functions associated with RU-12 (waste gas decay tank monitor).
Detects gross beta activity in the decay tank discharge header. High high activity will isolate the decay tank gas discharge header.
When is the SQ system operational?
During all modes of plant operation.
Where do high rad level alarms annunciate?
DCU in control room, in RMS/effluents office, and the chemistry count room
