What is the primary purpose of the MX system?
reduce the number of hard wired signals in the plant.
What methods does the control room have to communicate with people on site?

What do the LMTs do?
interface with plant computers and control room boards and send control signals to the cooling tower fans for each unit
What systems does the MX system interface with?
CW - cooling tower fans are controlled from control room
NA - various indications from switchyard are sent to the control room via MX
What does the PMUX interface with?
the NG system by providing manual control of L43 & L44 for unit 1 control room
What powers the EPABX system?
48 volt battery. Unit 1 will get an alarm if the battery or charger fails
How long will the PA system batteries last?
8 hrs
How many outdoor warning sirens are a part of the site area evacuation system?
6 pole mounted electronic outdoor warning sirens powered by solar powered batteries (2hr capacity)
How are personnel alerted in high noise areas?
use of audible alarms, flashing lights, or administrative measures
What areas are connected by sound powered phones?
fuel building and control room

What does the LMT do?
Local Multiplexer Terminal functions as a central hub for the associated cooling tower and switchyard remote multiplexer terminal
