Q

The PTU is a back up for what and is powered by what ?

A

Is back up for the #2 hydraulics and is powered by the #1 hydraulics.
must be on for takeoff and landing

for it to work you must have fluid in both systems

A

Rudder

Elevator

17
Q

Will the STDBY HYD PUMP green switch turn on when the pump turns on automatically ?

A

No

18
Q

What is the priority valve ?

A

Is used if the pressure falls below 2100 psi in the #1 system so it closes the valve.

19
Q

With the priority valve closed, what systems are cut off in the #1 system ?

HINT “FP”

A

Flaps and PTU

20
Q

How does the # 3 HYD system work ? 2.6usq

HINT “MOTOR/SWITCHES”

A

Automatically by. DCMP 2 pressure switches.
One signals the pump to turn on if pressure drops to 2600 and stops at 3250
The other switch lights up the #3 STDBY HYD if the system falls below 900 psi ( in flight )

21
Q

Where does the DCMP get it’s power from ?

HINT “ONE OF THE BATTERIES”

A

The standby battery

22
Q

What is the accumulator isolation valve ?

A

Is a valve that isolates the elevators from the #3 HYD system pressure.
It’s energized closed. And opens when wither the #1-#2 HYD systems fail or the engines fail.

23
Q

What causes an ELEVATOR PRESS caution light.

HINT “STUCK OPEN”

A

The isolation valve is stuck open supplying #1-2 HYD system even though they’re operative.

24
Q

How does the alternate landing gear pump work ?

A

The hand pump draws HYD fluid from a auxiliary reservoir following the loss of the #2 HYD system.

25
Q

The STDBY HYD pump is turned to what for takeoff and landing ?

A

ON

it will come auto if the #1 engine fails in flight

or
#1 reservoir is not empty and park break is off and flaps are greater then 0deg and AC power is available
26
Q

What does the STBY HYD pressure operate ?

HINT “BACK UP”

A

Back up source to the # 1 HYD system

27
Q

Where is the heat exchanger for the HYD fluid ?

A

in the collector bay by the flapper valve

28
Q

If you loose #2 HYD system you maintain 3000PSI in the break accumulator

A

.

29
Q

THE FWSOV closes when ? Fire Wall

A

pulled
temp in reservoir is 275F
or reservoir is empty

before this happens the FLUID HOT light comes on
