Procedure - Nasal Packing Flashcards

1
Q

What is posterior nasal packing?

A

Exactly what it sounds: packing the nasopharynx from the posterior aspect (through the mouth). It has a higher rate of complications (like pressure necrosis) and is thus reserved for when anterior packing fails to control bleeding.
