What is the general flow for a circling departure brief?
Departure —> Duties —> Aids —> Expected departure process —> Min height/RoC —> Cloud height/MSAs/ALT A —> EMRG actions
E.g. This will be a circling departure RWY XX, standard duties, aids setup and comms, we will climb straight tracking RWY heading, climbing at 1000ft/min, at X,XXXft make a L/R turn and track downwind before making a further turn to the L/R to intercept our outbound TRK, we must be above X,XXX ft prior to X.XNM, to achieve our minimum climb gradient we must achieve a minimum RoC of XXXft/min which we can achieve even if OEI, cloud is at X,XXXft, 10NM MSA is X,XXXft, 25NM MSA is X,XXX ft, Alt A Set climbing X,XXXft, in the event of power loss before flyaway abort, after fly away before visual remain within circling are for visual approach, once IMC continue the departure until 10NM MSA and request vectors for cloud break, any questions?
Note: Also can track overhead the aid if desired
