What is paracetamol?
A
An analgesic and antipyretic drug.

Indications?
A
Orally - relief of mild to moderate pain or high temperature
Intravenous - as part of a balanced analgesic routine

Contra-indications?
A
Known allergy
Paracetamol or paracetamol containing product has been given in last 4 hours.

Dosage and Administration?
A
1 gram then 4-6 hours interval then repeat.
2-4 grams max in 24 hours.

Cautions?
A
Double check dosage and don’t get confused between mg and mL.
Check when paracetamol was last administered.
