A narrow spectrum antibiotic used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

Indications?
A
Suspected meningococcal disease in the presence of:
A non-blanching rash and or signs of meningococcal septicaemia

Contraindications
A
Known severe penicillin allergy (more than a simple rash alone)

Dosage and admin
A
IV/IO/IM by slow injection.
IntD - 1.2 grams
