A
- Pre-existing renal disease/renal impairment
- Concurrent use of tetracycline ABs
- Exceeding total dose of 6ml in a 24hr period

A
- Must be hand held by the pt
- Pre-eclampsia

A
Self-administration under supervision using penthrox inhaler

Side Effects of Methoxyflurane
A
- Drowsiness
- Decrease in BP and bradycardia (rare)
- Exceeding the max dose of 6ml in a 24hr period may lead to renal toxicity

Effects of Methoxyflurane
A
- Analgesia commences after 8-10 breaths
- 3ml provides approximately 25min of analgesia
- Lasts for approximately 3-5min once discontinued
