events in the news that have been through a process where the journalist decide was is news worthy or not. jurnslit operate with some values and assumptions about what is regarded as newsworthy

certain events are ignored, gate keeping, narrowing the view on the world. bad news always higher rating than good news as bad news included many newsworthy aspects. death violence/flooding are popular due to neg status> Sarah evaded over 100 people attended the protest
