Q

What is the radiographic appearance of cardiogenic pulmonary edema?

A

Interstitial +/- alveolar (caudodorsal or perihilar)
Should have left atrial enlargement +/- left ventricular enlargement
+/- pulmonary vein dilation (much more specific for cardiogenic if present)

What are features of non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema?

A

Interstitial +/- alveolar
Predominantly caudodorsal, may be all lung regions
Peripheral distribution more specific for noncardiogenic
