Q

What’s the Petiole?

A

The Petiole is the stalk that attaches the stem to the blade.

It is covered by the Epidermis and Cuticle to create a ‘water resistant’ barrier.

Q

What’s the Stomata?

A

The Stomata is the region that allows for Gas Exchange. It is usually found in the ‘Lower Epidermis’.

The Opening/closing is regulated by the Guard Cells.

it has chloroplasts.

Q

What happens when Guard Cell closes?

A

Q

What’s the Palisade Mesophyll?

A

Q

What’s the Spongy Mesophyll?

A

The Spongy Mesophyll is a region between the Palisade Mesophyll and the lower epidermis.

It allows for Gas Exchange. It also contains fewer Chloroplasts.

They are irregular in shape.
