Q

What are the three types of archaebacteria?

A

Thermophiles (live in extremely hot environments like hot springs), Methanogens which grow on CO2 and H2 to produce Methane (in intestines of mammals) and Halophiles (live in extremely salty areas like salt flats).

Q

Heterotroph?

A

Q

What are the four phases of bacterial growth (in order)?

A

Lag phase (adaptation to environment), Exponential growth phase (y=2^x), Stable phase (stagnant growth due to ‘prefect’ conditions) and Death (running out of supplies and possible immune response).
