Q

What are the two types of Digestion that occurs in the mouth?

Q

Two functions of the stomach?

A

Storage of food and Chemical/Physical Digestion.

Can store 1.5L of food.

16
Q

What is stomach acid made of?

A

HCL (ph 2), Mucus (protects stomach lining), Pepsin (breaks down protein).

It’s called Chyme which also contains bile

17
Q

Where do enzymes and Bile come from?

A

Pancreas and Liver respectfully.

18
Q

Large Intestine function?

A

Extract water from stools.

19
Q

What does gallbladder do?

A

Store bile.

20
Q

What does liver do?

A

Detoxify harmful stuff

21
Q

What does pancreas do?

A

It neutralizes chyme from entering intestines in it’s harmful state. Also hosts Enzymes which break down Carbs (Amylase), Lipase (Fat) and Trypsin (Protein).
