Q

Renzo Knee on the butt

A

From knee on belly bottom…

Your outside arm is in tight to your body and your outside arm is tight but ready to take their body weight…

Bridge and use your inside knee to hit them in the middle of the butt, pushing them forward onto your waiting hand. Your hand should catch their gut and use it to direct them further away…

Turn into them as you bridge and swim your outside arm around the leg that was on your belly. Once you’re here they can’t regain the position…

Turn into them and hip switch/ extend your legs so that your pelvis is on the floor…

Come to your knees and elevate their leg to take side control

Q

Bridge to single leg

A

Bridge into the knee, not straight up but in towards the dead angle…

Then you can push with your far hand as your shrimp away, keeping the arm tight to your chest.
Immediately turn to your belly and grab a single leg…

You can also do the above but bring your inside arm around so that the elbow is on their knee. Push the knee off and shrimp…belly…single leg.

If they have your near arm or your collar. The arm is isolated so that you can’t use it to push on the knee as above. It will also be difficult to turn into them.
Hip switch by stepping your inside leg over your outside leg, this will scoot your hips out…

come to your belly and get the single leg…

Q

Escape to guard recovery

A

From knee on belly bottom…

Use your inside hand to control their hips/ grab their belt and keep them away. Be sure to keep your elbow below the level of their hips to prevent the arm bar…

Use your outside hand to push their knee and be sure not to flare the elbow…

Hip out to get their knee off you and try to come onto your side facing them. Keep your grip on the belt and your hand on the knee…

Bring your outside leg up and around so that your foot is on their shoulder. Use this foot as a post to make space and bring your other leg in and across to their other shoulder/ hip…

Use your feet to lift yourself off the ground and square up.
