what happens in the first stage of cognitive preparation ?

A

encouraged to analyse their own patterns of anger , e.g. situations that trigger anger
they learn their danger situations
then therapist able to rationalise thoughts , by tracing individuals pattern of behaviour , to then break the violent response by the consequences e.g. bans , guilt charges etc
so goal is to change the way the individuals think about danger situations and change their response (the pattern)
