Hepatic Vasculature Flashcards
What do the hepatic veins do?
Drain blood from liver into IVC
How does fluid move in the liver?
Oblique excursion in the liver. It flows from anterior to posterior
Where is the Hepatic veins located?
Intersegmental fissures
Where does the hepatic veins join the IVC?
Just inferior to diaphragm
Where does the hepatic veins widen?
It widens in the direction of the IVC as they approached the IVC
How much blood does the hepatic artery supply to the liver?
Approx 20-30%
What are the two branches of the hepatic artery?
- Common hepatic
- Hepatic artery proper
What is the common hepatic?
Courses from origin of celiac axis to junction of GDA (gastroduodenal artery). So it courses to the right side
What is the hepatic artery proper?
Courses from the GDA to the bifurcation of the right and left hepatic Arteries. Course towards the right side
What are hepatic artery proper?
Courses from the GDA to the bifurcation: off the right and left. It also travels superior a and right part of the portal triad
What is the porta hepatic?
Exits/ entrances to the liver, it is also called the hilum of the liver
What is the portal triad?
Consists of HA, PV, and BD
Where is the HAP positioned in regards to common bile duct?
Medial
The HAP is positioned ______ to main port vein?
Anterior
What is the Right and left hepatic arteries?
Intrahepatic vessels that travel in unison with BD and branch
