FDR
All a/c over 5700kg or multi eng turbo props and jets seating more than 9 seats must have FDR
Digital flight recorders
~must start recording autmatically before a/c moves its own power
~energised 5mins after the battery selected on

~under ater location beacon ,range 3 miles ,duration 30 days

~records from engine start to eng shut down
~endless loops sytem (most recent 30 min or 120 min)

Powered when 115ac is supplied to the a/c
FDR
~continuous recording of 25 hours worth of data
~from 5min after batteries switcehn on ,or when eng is started
