~ils protected area
~low visibiilty procedures

~
REQUIREMTNS
~2 AUTOPILOT
~incase pf failure a/c must not deviate from its flight path
~if one AP fails the a/c continues to follow the ILS
~if all AP fails .a/c must be trim
Alert height
~decison height
~if any faliure accur beofre deciosn height you MUST go around ,unless you have visual refernce
~
Alert height
~it is around 100ft RA
If faliure occurs above alert height»>~go around ,~revert to high minima if possible
~if occurs below alert height
The falure is ignored and the approach is continued
Hte crew are notnotified of the faliure
Autoland sys redundancy
~fail operational /active
~fail safe
Redundancy
~fail operational/active : is like having 3 pilots, and if ap fails before alert height you can continue
~fail passive,if ap fails beforee alert height you CANT CONTINUE.
But if the FAIL PASSIVE includes a hybrid ,then it becomes a a fail operational ,so in case of an ap failure you can contune
Fail passive
~min 2 separates ap
~if one fails ,the other ap contrls the a/c and there is no deviation from the flight path
~if above alert height ,the auto-land can not be carried out
~fail operationa;
3 ap,or 2 ap plus as eprate contorl channel
Wiht a single ap faolure ,auolnd can still be carried out
Fail passive
Is inidicated on the FMA by land 2
Fail operational
Fail operational is inidcted by land 3
Fail operational hybrid
If you have a failure above alert heoght, you either increase you minima or go around
Cat 1
~decision heigt not below 200ft
~rvr not less than 550m
Required visual refernce:
