Where should you give IV injections?
Jugular is most common. Thoracic, cephalic, and saphenous veins can be used for small volumes

- Base of the neck (10-12 ml)
- Semitendinosus
- Gluteal (Not recommended)
- Pectoral (Small volumes)

Caused by Sacrocystitis Neurona and transferred by possum feces
What are the 3 types of equine protozoal myeloencephalitis?
Eastern, Western, and Venezuelan
What is West Nile meningomyeloencephalitis?
Flavivirus passed by mosquito
What is viral rhinopneumonitis?
Equine herpesvirus transferred by respiratory
What is Botulism?
Clostridium botulinum spread by spores in soil
What is shaker foal syndrome?
Caused by botulism
What is hyperkalemic periodic paralysis?
Quarter horse genetic mutation
What is wobbles?
cervical stenotic myelopathy syndrome
What is equine degenerative myelopathy?
Vitamin E deficiency or hereditary
What is equine influenza a?
Orthomyxovirus -respiratory disease
