used to control occurrence of seizures has side effect of causing gingiva tissue overgrowth - gingival hyperplasia

Consequences
A
make adequate plaque removal difficult for pt as tissue covers it + prevents its regular removal by toothbrushing. Pt may have to undergo regular gingivectomy procedures to remove the worst gingival overgrowth
