The main galley, the in-seat power supply and IFE are shed

When there is only one gen power the a/c (except on ground with APU or external power ON)
When will BAT connect to DC BAT BUS automatically ?
-APU starting
-Bat voltage < 26.5 (bat charging)
-Loss of AC BUS 1 and 2 when speed < 100kt
Can BAT be discharged completely when a/c on ground ?
No, an automatic cut off logic will prevent that
When will RAT deploy automatically ?
Lost AC 1 and AC 2 and speed > 100kt
How can RAT supply electric power ?
RAT powers the blue hydraulic system, which then drives the emergency generator by mean of hydraulic motor
What happen when there is only BAT power the system and speed < 50kt ?
AC ESS BUS is SHED, all the display units are lost
How long does it take for emergency gen coupling ?
8s (5s for RAT deploy, 3s for powering)
FAULT lt on BAT pb ?
BCL is failed. Accompany with ECAM alert, when charge current is outside limits

-If AC NORMAL BUSES are supplied
● Then EMER GEN is driven if blue elec pump in running. AC ESS BUS and DC ESS BUS is connected to EMER GEN
● ECAM display ELEC page automaticaly (only on ground)
-If only BATs supply a/c
● The static inverter powers the AC ESS BUS
What happen when push GEN 1 LINE pb ?
GEN 1 disconnect and only powers one fuel pump on each wing tank
Gen 2 powers both AC BUS 1 and 2
Which cockpit lights is avail during an emer elec situation ?
-Right side dome light
-Main panel flood light (left two columns only)
-Standby compass light
Is this possible to connect the eng driven gen in parallel ?
NO
After an IDG is disconnected inflight, why do you get a GALLEY SHED indication ?
To remind that main galley is shed because there is only one gen running
Where is the ground power connector ?
Near the nosewheel on the right side of fuselage
How do you perform a BAT check ?
- Turn off both BAT
- Check BAT abv 25.5V (if not charge)
- Turn both BAT to AUTO
- Check amp decrease below 60 within 5s
What is the power source of FADEC ?
Full authority digital engine control
FADEC have their own alternator when N2 abv a set value. If alternator fail, FADEC are powered by main elec system

How do you charge BAT ?
- Turn BAT to AUTO
- Use EXT PWR
- Charge in 20 min
- After 20 min turn BAT OFF

How is DC BAT BUS normally powered ?
Via DC BUS 1 through DC tie contactor
When is the BAT checked performed ?
During FLIGHT DECK PREPARATION
How long will each ADIRU stay on BAT power ?
- ADIRU 2&3 remain for 5min until GEN can be restored
- ADIRU 1 ( or ADIRU 3 if ATT HDG CAPT 3 is selected) remains until GEN restored or BAT fail
How is IDG cooled ?
Integrated drive generator
By fuel from HP fuel pump drawn in from the fuel manifold
What is the function of IDG ?
Integrated drive generator
Convert variable engine speed to constant speed for optimum generator operation
What is the function of BUS TIE in AUTO position ?
Allow BUS TIE CONTACTORS to open and close automatically to maitain power to both AC BUS 1&2
What is the function of GALLEY pb in AUTO position ?
Sheds main galley, in seat power and IFE when there is only one GEN running (except on ground with APU or EXT PWR ON )

AC ESS BUS is powered from AC BUS 2
What lights illuminate when DC ESS SHED BUS fails ?
- Floor proximity emergency escape path marking system
- Overhead emergency lighting
