Acute Stress Reaction dsm-V
Exposure to actual or threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violation
Presence of nine (or more) of the following symptoms from any of the five categories of intrusion, negative mood, dissociation, avoidance, and arousal, beginning or worsening after the traumatic event(s) occurred
Duration 3 days to 1 month after trauma exposure.
Significant distress or functional impairment
PTSD dsm V criteria 5+3
- EXPOSURE
Traumatic event exposure (actual or threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violence) - INTRUSION sx
Re-experience the event (thoughts, dreams..etc) - AVOIDANCE of stimuli
- ALTERED MOOD
- altered REACTIVITY
- Must have all these plus the ones above;
- Unable to function or significant distress
- >1 Month duration
- disturbance is not attributed to another medical condition or substance use

- identifiable stressor(s) occurring within 3 months of the onset of the stressor(s).
Significant impairment or marked distress
- no other medical dz or exacerbation of a known one
- not normal deuil
- lorsque stresseur cesse, sx ne continuent pas plus que 6 mois
Specifiers: with depressed mood, with anxiety, with mixed anxiety and depressed mood
