Wall

a horizontal board siding with wood sheathing whose edges are rabbeted to make an overlapping joint
Shiplap Siding
a type of horizontal board siding in which an exterior wall cladding of wooden boards or strips of other materials; joints are tongued and grooved or rabbeted and overlapped so the lower edge interlocks with each other
Rustic Siding
a vertical board siding are boards that inter-lap or interlock and have flush, V-groove or beaded joints
Matched Boards
a vertical board siding is a board or lumber that has been planed smooth; aka “dressed and matched”, or “tongue and groove” boards
T&G Siding
a vertical board siding that has been saw cut or cut in wood whose rabbeted joint is v-shaped
V-Cut Siding
a vertical board siding that has scalloped wood sheathing with convex forms visible

these are boards used with other boards and battens to protect and enhance the vertical joints and form board-and-board patterns
Square-Edge Boards
boards that have narrow battens or wood strips attached to the joints of the T&G sheathing

boards are emphasized, battens are at the back

boards are visible equal sized board and batten

a wall framed the same way as a wood wall stud but with the use of steel studs
