Not a lot of facial movements, reduced movement
Flat affect
What 2 treatments are used for Parkinson’s?

Surgical insertion of a brain pacemaker that stimulates the basal ganglia, reducing Parkinsonian symptoms
Deep brain stimulation
Cells in the globus pallidus are selectively destroyed using a heated probe
Pallidotomy
Portion of the thalamus is removed
Thalamotomy
Fluid filled spaces in the brain
Ventricles
What are the 4 ventricles?

What are the functions of the CSF (4)?
Protection, transports nutrients and hormones, removes waste, buoyancy
Accumulation of CSF which arises from an imbalance in the production and drainage of the CSF; results in a large head
Hydrocephalus
