The group of incident managers composed of the operations section chief, planning section chief, logistics section chief, and finance / administration section chief
ICS general staff
A verbal plan, written plan, or combination of both that is updated throughout the incident and reflects the overall incident strategy, tactics, risk management, and member safety requirements approved by the incident commander (NFPA 1026)
Incident action plan
A member of the command staff, the point of contact for assisting or coordinating agencies
Liaison officer
The section responsible for providing facilities, services, and materials for the incident or planned event, including the communications unit, medical unit, and food unit within the service branch and the supply unit, facilities unit, and ground support unit within the support branch

A supervisory position that is responsible for providing supplies, services, facilities, and materials during an incident

A comprehensive, national, all hazard approach to provide federal resources in support of a major multi jurisdictional incident
National response framework
A supervisory position that is responsible for all tactical operations at the incident or planned event. This position deals with the strategy and tactics that are required to get the job done and reports directly to the incident commander
Operations section chief
The section responsible for all tactical operations at the incident y or planned event, including up to 5 branches; 25 divisions/groups; and 125 single resources, tasks forces, or strike teams

The section responsible for the collection, evaluation, dissemination, and use of information related to the incident situation, resource status, and incident forecast
Planning section
A supervisory position that is responsible for the collection, evaluation, dissemination, and use of information relevant to the incident.
Planning section chief
A member of the command staff responsible for interfacing with the public and media or with agencies with incident related information requirements
Public information officer
A member of the command staff responsible for monitoring and assessing safety hazard or unsafe situations and for developing measures for ensuring personnel safety
Safety officer
A branch within the logistic responsible for service activities at an incident or planned event, including the communications unit, medical unit and food unit
Service branch
A specific function in which resources are assembled in an area at or near the incident scene to await instructions or assignments
Staging

A group of resources with common communications and a leader that can be pre-established and sent to an incident or planned event or formed at an incident or planned event
Task force
A supervisory position that is in charge of a group of dissimilar resources
Task force leader
An engine company; truck company, or other functional or administrative group
