The UK political culture is traditionally defined by….
Homogeneity (of common heritage and identity), Consensus (submission to laws) and Deference (innate belief in the dominance of the elite)

Why does low electoral turnout provide issues?
It reduces the legitimacy of the government and questions the strength of its mandate
What is differential turnout?
The average turnout often masks the extremes of difference in turnout. EG. Machester Central had just 47% turnout 2015, while Dunbarton East had 81.9%
