affluent society analyzed the successful middle class which led to people saying that the poor are an after thought. Four years later The Other America came out focusing on the poor.

it was an upgrade in technology as big as the automobile and personal computer. By 1947 there were over 7000 TV sets in homes. A typical show in the 1950 was Queen for a Day where the women would get on a tell the most tragic story in exchange for household items.
