2
Q

A position with no dimension. Practically, it is perceived when a two dimensional a perceived object appears relatively small in relation to a plane against which it is seen. Although they are typically conceived as very small dots, they can also be any shape as long as it’s dimension is very small in relation to its background

Q

Type of lines that relate to a more natural world and the human body. They are graceful and suggest gentle movement. They can either be geometric or free form

9
Q

The true three dimensional aspect of interior design because an object with this is clearly perceived as a special form having length width and depth. This can either be solid or void, sometimes referred to as positive or negative space

15
Q

A physical property of visible light that is one part of a larger electromagnetic spectrum, which also includes other radiation in like x-rays and infrared light. Each one is differentiated from the others by its wavelength.

A

Additive colors

19
Q

What are colors created with pigments called

A

Subtractive colors

20
Q

What are the three primary colors of light

A

Red green and blue

21
Q

What are the three primary colors of pigment

A

Yellow red and blue

22
Q

The basic color, the attribute by which, for example blue is distinct from red

A

Hue

23
Q

Describe the degree of lightness or darkness of a color in relation to white and black

A

Value

24
Q

Defined by the degree of purity of the hue when compared with a neutral gray of the same value

A

Intensity or chroma

25
Q

What is it called when white is added to a hue

A

Tint

26
Q

What is it called when black is added to a hue

A

Shade

27
Q

What is it called when gray is added to a hue

A

Tone

28
Q

Familiar color wheel that organizes color pigments into three primary colors of red, blue, and yellow. When primary colors are mixed an equal amounts, they produce secondary colors of violet, orange, and Greene. Intern, when a primary color is mixed with an adjacent secondary color on the color wheel, a tertiary color is created.

A

Brewster color system also known as prang color system

29
Q

Defines color more accurately than the color wheel and uses three scales in three dimensions to specify the values, Hugh, and chroma. There are five principal hues designated by a single letter, and five intermediate Hughes, designated by two letters, all arranged in a circle. Each of these 10 years is subdivided into four parts and given the numbers 2.5, five, 7.5, and 10. Each of the 10 basic uses given the number five, indicating that they are midway between the adjacent Hughes and represent the most saturated color of that particular hue. When necessary, the colors can be further subdivided into 100 different hues

A

Munsel color system

30
Q

Colors that are opposite of each other on the color wheel that reinforce each other

A

Complimentary colors

31
Q

This type of color scheme employs one here with variations only in intensity and value. This system is fairly easy to develop and almost always works, they can become monotonous if used in an area that is occupied continuously

A

Monochromatic color scheme

32
Q

You just use that are close to each other on the color wheel. This type of colors game I include a combination as one primary color, one secondary, and one cursed tertiary between them, or one primary one secondary with the colors on either side of them.

A

Analogous color scheme

33
Q

A color scheme in which a color on one side of the color wheel is used with two hues that lineup on either side of the opposite complementary color

A

Split complementary color scheme

34
Q

Type of color scheme that uses three colors equally spaced around the color wheel, such as yellow orange green blue and red violet

A

Triad color scheme

35
Q

Set a color scheme is a spore colors that are equally spaced it on the color wheel, these are different to do well because a wide range of color is used.

A

Tetrad color scheme

36
Q

The surface quality of a material

A

Texture

37
Q

The physical qualities that can be sense to buy touch; the smoothness of a polished marble, the roughness of concrete, or the fuzziness of a wool fabric

A

Actual texture

38
Q

What people imagine a surface to be simply by looking at it and based on the memory of a similar texture

A

Visual texture

39
Q

The repetition of decorative motif on a surface. It is closely related to texture, but the individual elements of a pattern are usually discernible

A

Pattern

40
Q

The means by which all other aspects of environment are seen, it strongly affects how a space is perceived

A

Light
