Ch. 24 Construction drawings Flashcards
Sometimes called working drawings. These describe, and detail, the extent of the work in the locations, dimensions, and relationship with the various construction elements. These represent the interior designers final decisions concerning design, building methods, and construction technology. Such as, they must show that technically correct ways of meeting the functional requirements of the design, so just construction partitions, building architectural would work, just reviewing electricity, providing safe finishes, and satisfying thousands of other concerns
Construction drawings or working drawings
On largeprojects The first sheet often contains a large title and sometimes a graphic identification of the project. In addition, that she may contain an index to the set of drawings, a list of standard abbreviations in symbols used on the job, project data required by the building department such a square footage, occupancy category, building type in search, and general notes that apply to the entire job. And small projects, this information, if included, is placed on the first year the set, which is usually the floor plan.
Title and index sheet
The number and types of plan drawings depend on the project. Small, residential designs may have one floor plan that includes all the necessary information. Large projects may have several plans in the same area, each showing a particular type of information. Some of the types of plans commonly used on a midsize to large projects include demolition plans, construction plans, finish plans, telephone and power plans, and furniture plans. On the project is very complex, additional large scale construction plans may also be required of certain portions of small scale floor plan.
Floor plan
These may include construction elements such as wall types, doors, glazing, ceilings, millwork, stairways, Florence, and any other special construction. The number of these depends on the size and complexity of the project and whether the job has been bid for negotiated. If the project is being completely competitively bad, the details must be very complete and fully describe the extent of the words of the client will get a valid cost quote. On smaller, negotiate a contract jobs were the majority of the details are somewhat standard, there may be a few details because the final decisions made by during construction
Details
Is the project requires the service of a mechanical engineering consultant, the engineers prepare their own drawings with a professional seal. These drawings include information about the heating, then the lighting, and air-conditioning systems, as well as any plumbing systems.
Mechanical drawings
Electrical drawings are prepared by an electrical engineering consultant if the project includes newer revised power and lighting circulating in specialty wiring, such as fire alarms, communication systems, security systems etc. On most residential projects, light fixture and switch locations may be shown schematically by the interior designer. It is the electrical contractors responsibility to show the correct gauge of wire and to circuit the system properly and according to the building codes
Electrical drawings
When is sprinkler system is required for commercial construction, these plans must be completed by mechanical engineer and are usually included with the complete set of construction drawings
Fire protection drawings
Show which existing construction is to remain in which is to be removed. A separate construction plan is been drawn to show new construction.
Demolition plan
For large and complex projects the interior designer sometimes draws separate plans for these which show the location of electrical outlets, telephone outlets, and other signal systems, like the locations of computer terminals and inter-communication systems. A separate plan is usually required for large projects because there’s not enough room on the construction plan to show the outlets and include dimension lines to precisely locate each one. The interior designers plan only shows the outlet locations. The electrical circuit in, conduit size, and other technical information are included on the plans prepared by the electrical engineer.
Power plan and telephone plan
