What methods of bloodless castration are there?
rubber rings - stretched over scrotum, prevents blood flow, testicles and scrotum eventually atrophy and slough
Burdizzo - crushes spermatic cord preventing blood flow in testicular artery
What methods of surgical castration are there?
Open - parietal vaginal tunic is incised, testicles removed
Closed - parietal vaginal tunic not incised, ligature applied around vaginal tunic and spermatic cord, cord is transected distal to ligature
Semi-closed/modified - parietal vaginal tunic is incised, testicles removed and parietal tunic is sutured closed
