C26 Flashcards
Ductus deferens, accessory male genital glands
Ductus deferens
- Continuation of the ductus epididymis, connects it to the pelvic part of the urethra
- Travels with the testicular vessels and nerves
- Forming the spermatic cord - Enclosed in the mesoductus deferens
- Passes through the inguinal canal - Enters the genital fold
- Uterus masculinus: remnant of the paramesonephric ducts
- Perforates the prostate gland
Ampulla ductus deferentis (Ø su)
- Terminal part - Contains glands
- Eq + ru: joins the excretory duct of the vesicular glands ductus ejaculatorius -
- Sus: ductus deferens and vesicular gland opens separately
- Ca: no vesicular gland
Colliculus seminalis
- Proximal part of the urethra - Seminal hillock
Ductus ejaculatorius
- Joining of the deferent duct and the excretory duct - Normal in Eq and Ru
Plica genitalis
- horizontal sheet of peritoneum inserted between the rectum and bladder
What are the male accesory glands?
Gl. vesicularis
Gl. prostata
Gl. bulbourethralis
Which animals have ampulla ductus deferentis?
Eq, Ru and Ca
What animals have which glands?
The dog only has the prostate gland. The others have all the three glands
- known as cowpers glands
gl. vesicularis, gl, prostat, gl, bulbourethralis
Which glands are paired?
gl. vesicularis and gl. bulbourethralis
What are the two parts of the prostate?
corpus prostata
pars desseminta (ø eq)
Where can ductus excretorius be found?
in glandulae vesicularis
structures of prostata
Ru: small ru only has pars desseminta bull has both, compact is small
Eq: only corpus prostatae
Ca: pars desseminta is vestigial, corpus prostate (compact) is large and globular surrounds the urethra almost completley Facies ventralis et dorsalis
Corpus prostatae
At the beginning of the urethra - Compact
Pars disseminata prostatae
- Disseminate part
- Diffusely spread within the wall of the pelvic urethra
- Few lobules in Car Lobus dexter et sinister
Ca: partially divided by a groove
Isthmus prostatae (eq)
- Lies between the lobes, across the dorsal surface of the neck of the urinary bladder
Parenchyma
- Glandular substance
Ductuli prostatici
- Prostatic ductules
- Many small ducts that opens into the urethra Capsula prostatae
- Contains smooth muscle
- Covers the prosttate
where does ductus gl. bulbourethralis lead?
pars penila of urethra
where does ductuli prostaici open?
into urethra
