C22 Flashcards
Cranial nerve X
Cranial nerve X
vagus nerve, carries motor, sensory and parasympathetic fibers
passes through foramen jugulare
ggl. proximale
located within the foramen jugulare
detaches
r. meningeus
r. auricularis - communicates with facial nerve within canalis facialis, supplies an area on the inner surface of the pinna
ggl. distale
located at the detachment of the cranial laryngeal nerve
caudal to A.carotis interna and Ggl. cervicale craniale
brnahces after the distal ganglion
- r. pharyngei
- n. laryngeus cranialis
- n. depressor
joins with tr. sympatheticus to from tr.vagosympathetic
R. pharyngeus
joins the glossopharyngeal nerve to form plexus pharyngeum
innervates: sensory to epiglottis, trachea and esophagus, constrictors of the pharynx
r. laryngea cranialis
close to the distal ganglion, marks the end of the cranial vagus
divides into:
- r. externus - cricothyroid
- R. internus - sensory to larynx
N. depressor
runs with the tr. vagosympathetic to the cardiac plexus, slows the heart rate
Tr. vagosympatheticus
common course of the vagus and sympathetic trunk to the thoracic inlet
lies in vagina carotis together with the internal jugular (in dog) and carotis communi
Thoracic portion of vagus nerve
sympathetic trunk leaves to form the ggl. cervicale medius
branches
- r. cardiaci
- n. laryngeus reccurens
- Tr. vagalis dorsalis
- Tr. vagalis dorsalis
Abdomnial vagus nerve
Tr. vagalis dorsalis
- innervates
- parasymp branches to celiac, mesenterica cranial and caudal ggl
Tr. vagalis ventralis
- stomach
- liver
- duodenum
